Although they haven’t spoken about it in a sexual context, soft robotics engineers have moved one step closer to an artificial mouth capable of giving blowjobs.

As described in this article in Futurism, engineers have a novel way, using air pressure and origami-style folding structures, to create robotic gripping strength without the heaviness and loud grinding of the usual metal robotics we’re all familiar with.

Attempts at creating a robotic blowjob machine, such as the awful autoblow2, are doomed to fail. Who wants to put their dick into a machine that looks and sounds like a Vitamix?

Soft Robotics WalkingThe solution to our blowjob dreams isn’t with gears. It’s with quiet, soft, artificial muscles that are activated with electricity or perhaps air pressure, as shown in the video below, where the middle image shows the origami+air pressure “mouth” gripping a banana.

The problem of course is that people are so afraid of sexuality because of our culture’s war against sexual freedom, that they have to disguise their robot-mouth-building-dreams by coming up with other ideas, such as building a gripping machine for industry, or an artificial beating heart, so their friends and family think they’re doing something else. There are only a few true heroes among us, such as Matt McMullen, creator of the Harmony sex robot, who are openly working on this incredibly important challenge.

While roboticists are trying to make $20,000+ sex robots, there’s actually a much simpler solution, using VR or “Mixed Reality” where you can combine an artificial robotic mouth with VR. So instead of building an entire robot with thousands of moving parts, you will only need a mouth with lips, tongue, and throat (and perhaps a head with hair) and the rest of the woman is only seen in VR. Such a solution will cost a few hundred dollars rather than tens of thousands, and be much more customizable. Plus, true sex robots are still decades away, while a VR solution is possible now with today’s technology.
